Sad News! Sir Ian Holm Has Died Aged 88

We hate writing these articles but we had to for this. Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit star, Sir Ian Holm has died aged 88.

If you’re a fan of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies, you’ll remember Sir Ian Holm as the elderly version of Bilbo Baggins. He also appeared in Ridley Scott’s Alien as Ash and preformed in several Shakespearean productions over years. He even voiced Chef Skinner in the Disney-Pixar film, Ratatouille.

Ian Holm was married four times and had five children and at least one grandchild. One of his wives was Downton Abbey star, Penelope Wilton. He retired from acting in 2014 after the release of The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies which was the last film he completed in his lifetime.

He is survived by his fourth wife, Sophie de Stempel whom he married in 2003 and his children and grandchild. The actor also leaves behind a massive showcase of work that have and will be loved by generations to come.

The world mourns for a true thespian of the stage and screen and we send Ian Holm’s family our condolences. There will never be another like him May he rest in peace.

Goodbye Bilbo. You may rest now. Goodbye Sir Ian Holm. You are loved and always will be. We are thinking of his family at this hard time and we want them to know that we have them in our thoughts.
