Coffee Spotlight: Three Beans (MET Centre)

If you’re looking for a coffee pick-me-up, try Three Beans in the MET Centre, not far from the Wynyard Startup Hub.

I’ve been to Three Beans before and I was surprised at how reasonable the prices are. Just because the prices say one thing on their menu, doesn’t mean that’s how much your coffee or food will be.

When I brought my coffee this morning, I looked up at the menu board and saw a small coffee price of $4. When I ordered, I was only charged $3.40. How great is that? I was happy with that. I’ve been trying to save money and stretch my weekly $20 as far as I can so paying this much was perfect.

The coffee itself was okay, but it tasted like every full-cream milk cappuccino I’ve had. I didn’t want to pay an extra $0.50 for almond milk which is fine by me. There’s been no gagging on coffee for a while.  What I loved about my Three Beans coffee was the cup it came in! I know this might seem odd to put in a ‘product review’, but it was so cool. I wish other coffee cups were this pretty!

So, would I buy coffee from Three Beans again? I would definitely buy more coffee from there. This is one of the few places where I’ve bought food from too. The only thing I wish they would do is to change the prices on their menu. It’s hard to work out if the prices are for eating at the café, takeaway prices, or both. Something as small as that is often misleading to the customer.

I would rate Three Beans ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of five for price and the pretty cup, but I would give only ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of five for coffee taste.
