There is a vast difference between Catherine and Meghan; one showed how concerned she was about how her sister-in-law’s relationship with her father while the other ghosted the man…
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge became concerned about her sister-in-law, Meghan, and the relationship she had with her dad according to a recent article by The Daily Mail. At the time of brother-in-law, Prince Harry’s engagement to the former Suits actress, he had yet to meet her father, Thomas Markle. The future royal Consort expressed her worries to the now-Duke of Sussex when he and his then-fiancée stayed at her and husband Prince William’s home, Anmer Hall as she couldn’t understand why he hadn’t met his future father-in-law.
One royal author has since gone on to say that Meghan was ’embarrassed’ by particular members of her family. Now, we know this is a dig at Thomas and his two elder children, Samantha and Tom Jr, Meghan’s half-siblings.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan come from very different family structures. Catherine is incredibly close to her parents, Carole and Michael and siblings, Pippa and James as well as her brother-in-law, James Matthews and nephew and niece, Arthur and Grace. Meanwhile, Markle only has her mother, Doria in her corner while cutting off the rest of her family including her black relatives, which includes her father.
Catherine had every right to be concerned. Who ghosts their ailing father and refers to him in the past tense during a so-called ‘bombshell’ interview like he’s dead? Talk about despicable.
Meghan’s Family Became Upset And Catherine’s Observation
Moving away from Catherine for a moment and according to the linked Daily Mail article, Meghan’s family became upset because of a comment Harry made. The prince had guest-edited BBC Radio’s 4 Today programmed and commented that his family was “like the family she [Meghan] didn’t have”. He mentions this in the engagement interview too but there’s one thing that stands out here.
It appears Catherine seemed to catch on that Meghan had ghosted her family as she [Markle] appeared uncomfortable and unwilling when asked about them. She would only talk about her mother, Doria. Anyone who followed the Duchess of Cambridge for years knows that she values her family which is why she has such a close bond with hers. She is also no fool. It’s clear she knew something was off and asked Harry whether he knew what was going on the woman he saw as ‘the one’.
During the Oprah interview, Meghan claimed it would be ‘hard to reconcile’ with her father after what he did. Now, we don’t know about you, but Markle appears to hold a grudge. She expects everyone in her life to be highly loyal to her and only her. Look at what happened to her former best friend, Ninaki Priddy who has said after she [Ninaki] sided with the duchess’ ex-husband, Trevor Engleson, she was out of Meghan’s life for good. She also said she didn’t recognise the fame hungry person the former actress had become.
