She’s best known for being Steve Irwin’s daughter, but now Bindi is a married woman just hours before wedding restrictions were put into effect.
A big congratulations is in order for Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell as the couple is now married! The pair, who met as teenagers, had dated for six years before they announced their engagement mid last year on Ms Irwin’s 21st birthday.
It is believed that Bindi and Chandler in the next few months, but due to the Coronavirus, they were forced to push their nuptials date up. This comes just hours before the the new restrictions on weddings were pushed to include a maximum of five people.
Bindi and Chandler were forced to abandon the big celebration they had planned. They married in front of just Terri and Robert, Bindi’s mother and brother and some Australia Zoo’s animals.
Robert, Bindi’s brother walked his sister down the aisle. This was agreed upon due the tragic death of their dad, Steve who was killed in 2006 by a stingray barb. The couple also chose to keep the Crocodile Hunter’s legacy alive by lighting a candle in his honour.
According to Mamamia, Bindi has said there were no guests as they didn’t want to put their health. She also stated it was a hard decision to make. They wanted the occasion to be a celebration with everyone they cared for there.
Again, we want to extend our congratulations to Bindi and Chandler! To get you all in a good mood, here’s the photo the couple and Robert posted to Instagram. We used the copy from Bindi’s Instagram account @bindisueirwin.

March 25th 2020 ❤️ We held a small ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now. We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding. This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe. We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos. Right now we’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history. Today we celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens. Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory. We shared tears and smiles and love. Thankfully, since we all live at Australia Zoo as a family, we could be there for each other. To everyone reading this - stay safe, social distance and remember LOVE WINS!
