This is not your normal post. Whoo! Onto the post!
Ever gotten featured? Then you know the extraordinary feeling. Writers getting featured means people are seeing the work you do.
Firstly, I got the shock of my life this morning when I checked my emails. I found that the Australian Writers Centre newsletter had arrived in my inbox as it does every Thursday morning. It was the surprise I got when I scrolled through that I had not expected.
The newsletter has a section where it shows social media photos. Known as #whereiwrite, the section highlights the special places that AWC newsletter subscribers find their writing ‘zing’.
I have done this on occasion as I thought it was an excellent idea. It was all about getting my presence out there. Apparently, it has begun to pay off.
Moreover, this was one of the few chances to get my name out there. I‘m glad they chose me. However, this does not mean that I’m professional yet, but it is certainly a step in the right direction. It demonstrates that people are starting to take notice.
Become featured elsewhere, you get noticed. Everybody has to start somewhere. Including the professionals of the world. The more you post, the more people take notice.
Therefore, I leave you with these parting words.
In addition, I encourage all Australian writers to subscribe to the AWC. They are a great bunch of people who are passionate about their craft and want their fellow writers to succeed. If you ever feel down and need some impression, visit their Instagram profile @writerscentreau or use the hashtag #whereiwrite in the search box of the app.
